Why we make our business complex
******
For investing in 'equities' if one has to keep track of FOMC, ECB, RBI Monetary Policy Outlook, Inflation outlook, economic indicators like IIP ( Index of Industrial Production ) etc, Indian Metrological Departments monsoon forecasts and so on and so forth

then

I better invest in the good old Fixed Deposits.

By tracking events continuously, this is what we do to the hapless investor.

Like Warren Buffet says, 'I don't invest in a business that I don't understand', even the आम आदमी thinks likewise.

High time we understood the 'power of simplicity' and make equities SIP Simple.

If we are marketing 15 years SIP to him, first make him believe that the intermittent events that will keep happening from time to time has no bearing over the long term because of our  high potential economy ( strong economic fundamentals means stamina for the long haul ).

Hence it is high time we stop tracking economic events because by doing so we certainly do not create 'investors' but perhaps only a few speculators.

Speculators or speculation isn't the ground for cultivating investors, the mainstay of our industry.

Are we in the business of making ourselves look good by our knowledge and in the process making the customer look uneducated / stupid and totally dependant on us?

Or

Are we in the business of making it simple and easy for the investor to understand so that he participates in the markets with complete conviction.

This strategy will mushroom large number of new investors and thereby help the industry to grow in size.

For enhancing the depth and width of the economy it is imperative to MAKE INVESTING SIMPLE for the investor.

SIMPLE INVESTMENT PLAN (SIP)

The one reason people shy away from equity investing is because they think it is complex and one needs to have tons of knowledge.

It is our duty to make investing simple just like how computers became simple.

Who cares about computer underlying technology these days. Haven't we moved away from the 'computer configuration' days to a simple brand like Apple that we die to posses.

Retail mass markets can never be created on a foundation of complexity.

So just ignore the daily, weekly and monthly events if you want to cultivate long term investors.
